Our 2021 Open Tournament
We had another fantastic Finals Weekend, it was great to see players and spectators at the club after the last 18 months of restrictions due to Covid rules and guidelines.
We had an amazing start with the ladies singles between Michelle and Nicky, some great hitting and accurate shots. Michelle took the first set, but Nicky came back in the second set then won the third to take the trophy for the first time.
The second match of the day was the men's doubles. Again some great play, but Tom & Tyler got off to a great start and didn't look back to take the title in two sets.
Due to injuries the mixed doubles and the veterans have had to be postponed, but as soon as we have the results, we'll update this page.
We finished off the day with a social evening with a BBQ.
Day two was a little overcast, but that didn't put off the players or spectators. We started with the men's singles. Tom was carrying a knee injury but played on. Tyler won with some brilliant shots.
The ladies doubles was quite the marathon for Sue & Suzanne v Lisa & Vicki. The first set went to Lisa and Vicki, but Sue & Suzanne stormed back in the second set, The final set was quite nail-biting and eventually Lisa and Vicki won with a score of 10 - 8!
The afternoon was finished off with tea, cakes and Pimms!
